I was in grad school when the pandemic/zoom-fueled hyper wokeness played out in classroom meetings, where side chats spiraled into alienating those who said something deemed off-hand. It led to bullying of students by students, and the firing of one teacher. I’m glad to hear more about his thoughts. Thank you.

also öffentliche krankenhäuser, sozialkassen und mehr oder weniger aufklärerische schulsysteme, kann es ebenso unter einer autokratischen struktur geben. die frage in wieweit dann #würde vorherrscht wird hier dann sehr intellektuell... weile viele dieser subjekte würden sich sicher ent-würdigt fühlen, würde man ihre existenz als würdelos ausweisen. so sieht zum beispiel auch ein nationalistisches gemüt seine persönliche würde direkt verbunden mit seiner unbedingten verwobenheit mit der nation. ihm zu erklären dass er dieser unterworfen ist, nun... diese unterwerfung ist ja gerade fundament ihrer würde. - schöpft die würde aus der idee der nation. und hier relativiert sich strukturell schon wieder so einiges... psychologisch gesehen ist es z.b. nicht irrational, wenn ein indischer muslim, nun in zeiten stärkerer repression der eigenen gruppe in der öffentlichen sphäre, seine indische identität sogar bestärkt: "ich bin muslim und trotzdem stolz inder zu sein."

I could listen to Margaret Atwood speak all day long. Her stories are so interesting, and she is very wise and insightful. It's chilling how The Handmaid's Tale is so relevant to our present day society and politics. I have never heard of Claudia Rankine. I thought her constant references to Ms. Atwood's age were quite distracting. However, it appeared that they were friends, so maybe this was simply playful banter between the two? I value the opinions and perspectives of my elders. They bring a sense of living history to their world.
